Searching for a Board Member from Bhutan!
The South Asia Hub was co-created with thirty-five civil society representatives from thirty-two organizations representing eight countries across South Asia. It seeks to create an enabling environment that contributes to sustainable development and equitable participation. Ultimately, the South Asia Hub works to strengthen the civic space to create a more just and peaceful society in the region.
The South Asia Board is an elected diverse group of eight Board Members that represent the eight countries in South Asia and vote on behalf of our regional members (Afghanistan, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal, India and Bangladesh).
Who we are looking for: The South Asia Hub is currently looking for a Board Member to represent the country of Bhutan and represent our members in Bhutan.
The potential Board Member should:
1) be a supporter of and believer in the values and principles of civil society, 2) be involved in philanthropic and/or socially responsible contributions to the growth and development of civil society in one of the countries in the region, 3) be prepared to devote time and energy to the success of the hub, 4) be a team player with experience of working in Boards, 5) be respected member of his/her fraternity who has demonstrated leadership skills in a professional setting, 6) has skills and expertise in areas that are critical to the success of the hub, as well as access to resources, and 7) accepts diversity within the hub and within the board (i.e marginalised communities such as LGBTIQ persons/communities, etc.)
What it means to be a Board Member in the South Asia Hub:
The purpose of the South Asia Innovation for Change Board includes (but is not limited to): 1) to provide direction to the hub by establishing broad policies and strategic objectives, 2) to oversee the functioning of the hub, including selecting, appointing, supporting and reviewing the performance of the hub Coordinator, 3) to represent the hub in different circles and proactively promote and support its mission and objectives, 4) to contribute to the availability of adequate financial resources, in partnership with the Coordinator and other relevant stakeholders, and 5) to be accountable for the hub’s performance to external stakeholders.
